In this illustrated presentation, astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner gives a brief overview of the “evolving” ideas in secular astronomy about the origin of the universe. By dissecting various flaws in past and current big bang models, he encourages Christians to critically examine all cosmology theories. He also gives an overview of the evolving theories in secular astronomy. Dr. Faulkner discusses the historical development of cosmological theories and the various views on the big bang, and shows how the big bang model is insufficient to explain the universe as we see it today.

Dr. Danny Faulkner received his PhD in astronomy from Indiana University. He was on the faculty of the University of South Carolina Lancaster for more than 26 years where he taught physics and astronomy. He retired in 2012 and now holds the title Distinguished Professor Emeritus. In January 2013 Dr. Faulkner joined Answers in Genesis and its Creation Museum full time as astronomer. He hosts Ark Encounter trips down to Red River Gorge (in eastern Kentucky), and Stargazer’s Nights (at the Johnson Observatory). He has published over 100 papers in various journals.
