The Design and Complexity of DNA Trilogy DVD Series

Join David Rives and Dr. Joe Deweese as they explore the design and complexities of human DNA in this exciting series – The Design and Complexity of DNA Trilogy DVD Series

DVD #1 – DNA – God’s Blueprint For Life

The Double-Helix structure of DNA found in every one of us is incredible complex…but there are some challenges. We’ve all seen representations of the double-helix strand of DNA, but what do we really know about it, and is science showing that it couldn’t have come about by chance? Dr. Joe Deweese earned his P.h.D. in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt University and in 2009, began teaching biochemistry and pharmacology at the Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy. His specialty is in DNA Topoisomerases – a fascinating field of research that will leave you in awe of God’s design.

DVD #2 – Topoisomerase II – DNA’s Natural Detangler

DNA is sophisticated. That means that there’s more opportunity for something to go wrong! If your DNA was all knotted up, then you’d be in trouble, but a little enzyme known as Topoisomerase II steps in. How does it work, and what are the implications?

In this video you will learn that:

“Without Topoisomerase activity, you have no way to alleviate the topological strains, so there is going to be no way to survive.  there is no way to replicate your DNA, no way to transcribe your DNA.  you have to have this function very early on.” – Joe Deweese

DVD #3 – The Origin of Genetic Micro-Machines

Can DNA survive without enzymes? Can you have RNA without DNA? How feasible is the evolutionary tree of life when we study the complexity of DNA? DNA has encoded the instructions for very complex enzymes. These enzymes are required to keep knots and tangles from threatening the very DNA that encodes them. That’s a chicken and egg problem! Dr. Joe Deweese explains the miraculous chain of events going on in your body’s cells right now. Dr. Joe Deweese earned his P.h.D. in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt University and in 2009, began teaching biochemistry and pharmacology at the Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy. Some might find these episodes boring. I didn’t. They are fascinating. DNA is an intriguing study, and I believe Christians need to have a good understanding of their DNA for it is the building blocks of our temple. See my individual reviews for these DVDs. (I highly recommend the Wonders episodes the Body Codes Trilogy. They are excellent and a must watch especially in any study of DNA.)
