Description
Rats and the Black Plague
What is the connection between rats and the Black Plague? The Black Plague was by far the most catastrophic pandemic in recorded history, killing anywhere from an estimated 25 to 200 million people. Rats are often blamed for the spread of the disease, and rightly so, but did you know that they were also the key to stopping it? You likely would not have guessed that the solution to the Black Plague would be more rats!

Extremely fascinating! This is the second Wonders episode I’ve seen with Jim Johnson (The Vikings and Historical Record being the first and I highly recommend that one too!), and I very much enjoyed it. The Black Plague, the deadliest pandemic in history, was stopped by the natural immunity of the Norwegian Rat. God is amazing. He has given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness in His creation. Highly recommend this. This episode ties with The Vikings and Historical Record as my currently all-time favorite Wonders episode!
