Why would a good God create bad bugs and viruses? Viruses are the horrible microscopic nuisances that we all know cause disease, right? Yes, but that’s only a small part of the story. The truth is that most viruses are harmless to humans. In fact, our bodies contain trillions of them! But the question still remains: Why did God create viruses? Should we actually thank God for viruses?
Dr. Jerry Bergman has taught biology, biochemistry, anatomy, genetics and psychology in universities around the country. Dr. Bergman holds 9 degrees, including a Ph.D. from Wayne State University. With over 1,000 publications to his name, including over 20 books, his work has been translated into 13 languages. Dr Bergman has presented over one hundred scientific papers at professional and community meetings in the United States, Canada, and Europe. He has been a featured speaker on many college campuses throughout the United States and Europe. Dr Bergman is also a frequent guest on radio and television programs. His research has also made the front page in newspapers throughout the country, has been featured by the Paul Harvey Show several times, and has been discussed by David Brinkley, Chuck Colson, and other nationally known commentators on national television.
