What can music teach us about God? It’s one of the things that bring so much joy to our lives, yet for some reason it’s difficult to explain why human beings have such a close and unique relationship with music. Music is often referred to as the universal language. It can pull on our heartstrings and take us on emotional journeys ranging from light and uplifting, to dark and depressing. As the Creator of sound itself, it stands to reason that God shares with us an appreciation for music. What can we learn about God through music? Perhaps we can start with the design of the human ear, without which we could not enjoy music in the first place.
