In his sophomore year of college, a fellow classmate challenged Dr. Carl Werner with these words: “I bet you can’t prove evolution.” Undeniably disturbed by his classmate’s criticisms of the theory, Dr. Werner (a biology major at the time) pondered this conversation. From this point, he began his quest for an answer. Driven by his stringent scientific background and exceedingly curious nature, Dr. Werner researched every topic he could find on evolution. This included paleontology, geology, biology, as well as biochemistry. After 18 years of study, Dr. Werner considered himself ready to begin a series of experiments to test evolution. It was his Grand Experiment to undoubtedly test the theory and determine it veracity.
Over the next nearly three decades (1997-present), Dr. Werner traveled 298,000 miles to 45 dig sites around the globe and visited 132 museums and universities. He photographed thousands of original fossils and the actual fossil layers where researchers found them. He also interviewed more than 100 experts in the field.
